My Open Math is an openly licensed platform for developing assessments. It has been used extensively by faculty in the California Community Colleges to author problem sets for a number of commonly taught math and physics courses.
As is often the case with both commercially-provided and openly licensed homework systems, the ASCCC OERI has identified a number of accessibility issues with My Open Math. My Open Math has been responsive and made many of the platform-level modifications that were needed to improve its accessibility. Notably, My Open Math’s integration into Canvas has been greatly improved. While platform issues can be addressed centrally, ensuring that content authors create accessible content is a great challenge. In order to facilitate the development of accessible resources, we have prepared a My Open Math Accessible Content Authoring Guide (Word) to assist those faculty who want to use this tool.
